![]() ![]() ![]() If the computer has more than one USB port (some laptops don't!), try all of them. There's something wrong with your (in order of likelihood) USB cable, the Drums themselves (or the USB port on them), or the USB port of the computer. Chances are, without a driver, Windows won't see it as a MIDI device, so you'll get the USB device with an error. If it's not in the USB section, it might be in the 'Sound, video and game controllers' section (that's where MIDI devices end up). Did the list of USB devices change? If it did, was there a red or yellow exclamation point on the new entry? Since you say the driver won't install, you should see the exclamation point on one of the entries. At the bottom, click to expand 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. One of the choices presented should be Device Manager. Click on the Start Menu then type 'device'. Did you try running the installer in 'compatibility mode'? If that doesn't work, we can do some basic USB troubleshooting.įirst, disconnect the drums.
